If you’re on the hunt for steep discounts on gaming consoles, you likely won’t find them this Prime Day. While video games themselves are seeing some good prices, the consoles simply aren’t. The Switch is at least somewhat readily available, but we still haven’t started to see discounts for it again. The XBox Series X and PS5 are barely available and never discounted when they are (the less sought-after XBox Series S is available, at least). We had hoped to see discounts on older consoles, such as the PlayStation 4 and the XBox One S, but those deals haven’t really materialized yet, either. However, Target’s offering a “Buy 2, get 1 free” promotion ahead of Prime Day that includes eligible movies, books, video games, board games, puzzles, and craft & activity kits—meaning you can potentially snag a few of our favorite games for less.
