Job seekers not only care about salaries, office culture and benefits. They also look for workplaces that offer growth and opportunities to climb the corporate ladder once they've built a strong foundation.
So, which companies are best at providing professionals a chance to internally advance their careers?
GitLab, Apple and LexisNexis were ranked by employees as the overall best large companies to provide this type of career growth, according to a survey by culture and career-monitoring website Comparably.
The firms on Comparably’s latest "Best Companies for Professional Development" list were ranked based on the most positive sentiment ratings from employees over the past year. Workers were asked a number of questions such as whether they felt challenged at work, how often they got valuable feedback on how to improve and whether they had a mentor.

Comparably's professional development list is split by company size. The top large companies have more than 500 employees and the top smaller firms have fewer than 500 staffers.
