WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The GW men's rowing team concluded its 2021 season on Saturday at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
At Friday's time trials, GW's 1V8, 2V8 and 3V8 boats qualified for petite finales, guaranteeing a top 12 finish for each boat in Saturday's final slate of races.
On Saturday, GW's varsity eight boat finished 12th overall after a sixth-place finish in its first petite finale appearance in program history.
GW's second varsity eight boat finished first in its petite finale to take home seventh overall for another program-best.
The 3V8 took third in its petite finale to place ninth nationally.
GW's V4+ capped off the historic day with a third-place showing in the third-level final.
