Ginger Cake

One of the easiest, quarantine-friendly ways to travel right now is by cooking and baking signature dishes from restaurants and chefs around the world. Transport yourself to Heckfield Place, the luxury Georgian manor hotel estate and farm in Hampshire, England, with chef Skye Gyngell’s Ginger Cake. “This ginger cake is sticky and richly spiced by the use of fresh ginger. It’s delicious as a breakfast treat or perfect with a cup of tea come mid afternoon. The ingredients are uncomplicated: flour, molasses, fresh eggs, ginger and sugar and it will keep well for several days in a cake tin outside of the fridge.”

Funfetti Macaroons

“‘Tis the season for Funfetti Macaroons,” says Molly Yeh, food blogger, cookbook author and host of Food Network’s Girl Meets Farm. “Whether or not you celebrate Passover, macaroons are such a great treat that you can make with shelf-stable, pantry ingredients in very little time. I always have a can of condensed milk and a bag of coconut on hand and the flavors are infinitely adaptable. Add sprinkles, nuts, different extracts, a little cocoa powder, or even a dollop of glaze on top! The world is your macaroon oyster.” Get the recipe here.
