Why you need to know about the 'dinner hack hotline': Chefs will give you a tasty recipe to make with your random pantry ingredients LIVE in new online service
- Food experts are sharing recipes for home cooks lacking dinner recipe ideas
- Chefs are now creating meals on MasterFoods' Dinner Hack Hotline on Facebook
- The Dinner Hack Hotline is open 3pm-7pm for users to send ingredients in
A new free service has launched across Australia to help home cooks come up with the perfect dinner recipe using ingredients they already have in their pantry.
The food experts at MasterFoods have launched the 'dinner hack hotline' - a Facebook Messenger service where you can send in the ingredients you have on hand and chefs will return a recipe to you as soon as possible.
The idea has been praised by many who believe the service will help cut down the need for supermarket trips during the COVID-19 crisis.
Food experts at MasterFoods are now making it easy for amateur chefs by turning whatever ingredients they have at home into a recipe in a new online service (pictured cottage pie)
The hotline is open from 3pm-7pm on weeknights, with the company promising to turn 'whatever's in your pantry into a magic meal'.
Since launching on March 31, MasterFoods in-house Master-Creator Susan Stitt has said that her team are creating an average of 72 recipes a night.
'As a chef, I’ve seen some unbelievable meals made from leftover ingredients in my time, and I hope our team and I can provide Australians with some recipes that will tingle their taste buds,' she said.
'In these tough times, with limited ingredients and restrictions on shopping, I hope that some of the recipes we send back might inspire people to think outside the box and save an unnecessary trip to the shops in the process.'
Recipes range from shepherd's pie and pasta dishes to easy salads, desserts meat dishes and vegetarian creations.
The service has received glowing reviews so far, with one mother inspired to cook up a feast for the family after chatting to the chefs online.
'Many thanks for the ideas for my chops and sausages... I will give those ideas a try when I can make it a 'Back to Normal' dinner party with family too,' she wrote.
'I've been busy cooking banana walnut muffins and veggie bacon muffins and egg n bacon pies in the Pie Maker.'
