Greenville, N.C. – Senior Maya White carded Western Carolina's best final-round score with a 1-over par 73 on Sunday as the Catamounts shot their tournament-best score of 301 in finishing ninth overall at the ECU Easter Invitational at the par-72, 6,188-yard Ironwood Country Club. Sophomore Victoria Ladd paced the Catamount scoring five in a tie for 24th.
 
Opening on the front nine, White carded 12 pars with three birdies in carding WCU's best round of the tournament at 1-over par, 73. She climbed five spots in the final standings to finish tied for 37th overall. White finished with six birdies on the weekend. Ladd countered six bogeys with a trio of birdies on Sunday to shoot 3-over par 75 for a three-round score of 226. The Greensboro, N.C., native led the Catamounts at the tournament and finished with seven total birdies.
 
Senior Hazel Martin advanced one spot into a tie for 43rd with a 54-hole score of 240, a stroke ahead of junior teammate Madison Isaacson in 45th at 241. Senior Cameron Wood came home 51st with a final score of 251. Isaacson finished with four birdies in the tournament, while Martin had three and Wood with two.
 
Playing unattached as an individual, senior Harper Gilreath finished 46th overall with a three-round score of 242 after posting a final-round score of 77, her best of the season. Gilreath finished with three birdies on Sunday.
 
Tournament-host East Carolina rallied two spots with a final-round score of 292 to shoot 888 and edge the College of Charleston (890) by two strokes to claim the team championship. August was third at 891, followed by Coastal Carolina (893) and Campbell (895).
 
Second-round leader Samantha Vodry of High Point held off hard-charging Amelia Williams of James Madison, who climbed nine spots in the final standings to claim individual medalist honors. Vodry finished 4-under par 212 while Williams was the runner-up at 1-under par 215.
 
Western Carolina now turns its attention to the 2021 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship, April 19-20, at the Oak Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island, S.C. The 54-hole tournament will be contested over two days, with 36 holes scheduled for day one followed by the final round.
