(KNSI) – Minnesota is the second-best state in the country for doctors to practice in. That’s according to WalletHub, which placed Montana in the No. 1 spot.
After Minnesota, Idaho, Wisconsin and Kansas round out the top five states for physicians.
Minnesota has the third-highest average starting salary for doctors and is 11th in hospitals per capita. Minnesota also ranks 5th for the lowest projected competition for doctors by the year 2028.
The state ranks 5th for its insured population rate, 5th for the punitiveness of the state medical board, 9th for its medical environment, 10th for its average annual wage for physicians and 20th for physicians’ opportunity and competition.
