Michigan State football rises in polls after best start since 2015 - The State News

Michigan State Head Coach Mel Tucker and his football team are in the midst of their best start since 2015, finding themselves moving up to No. 17 going into Week 5 of the collegiate season AP Poll.

The team has gone on an undefeated, 4-0 win streak, defeating Nebraska 23-20 in overtime last night off the foot of graduate student kicker Matt Coghlin.

The top three teams have not moved since last week and remain with No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Georgia and No. 3 Oregon.

Here is where the teams stand in Week 5:

6: Oklahoma

7: Cincinnati

8: Arkansas

9: Notre Dame

The Spartans were also ranked No. 16 in the USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll and No. 17 in the college student media poll.
