Update: The virtual celebration will be going live later than expected. Keep an eye on the PennLive Facebook and YouTube pages to catch it when it premieres this evening.

For 28 years, The Patriot-News and PennLive have been celebrating high school seniors with the Best and Brightest program.

This year we received 147 applications and tonight we will reveal the 20 winners.

Because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, for the first time in the history of Best and Brightest, PennLive was forced to come up with a way to celebrate the class of 2020 other than an in-person reception.

At 8 p.m. on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel, we will launch a video celebration with messages and a few surprises for the 20 Best and Brightest, sponsored by Renewal by Andersen.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate the success these students who have had an impact in their schools and communities.

The photos and profiles of these fine students also will appear on PennLive just after the virtual celebration and on May 24 in The Sunday Patriot-News.

Plan to tune in tonight to hear about these 10 boys and 10 girls who are extra special central Pa. high school seniors graduating in what has been an extraordinary year.
